I think you have that timeline exactly right. From 2008 on, we were in Great Recession crisis mode and then a long period of weird recovery with vast amounts of printed money like never before seen. We used a extereme financial rigging to dig ourselves out of that deep recession that would have been full-on depression, but we did so without fixing the fundamental flaws of our economy (because greed keeps us from making things real because so much can be made via the casino). Then we had Trump 1.0, which ramped that up, gave us a final boost out of the last of the Great Recession but using the same old tools of hyping the economy with with big tax cuts, mostly for rich corporations, paid for only by continued huge debt financing. Then we had Covid, which turned the entire world upside down in a month's time because of our government controlled, massively intrusive and destructive over-response to it. From there, Biden took us directly into the pages of 1984 with surveillance and government control like we had never experienced and more divisiveness. And now we have total chaos under Trump 2.0--far greater tariffs that were illegal and suddenly turned off the courts with new kinds of tariffs imposed and more new wars in one year than we've ever seen, a resulting energy crisis that will be far worse than the one in the seventies and eighties! So, YUP! Things will look nothing like they used to be.
The rebuild and reset will be more government controlled than ever and AI controlled and, therefore, weirder and more apocalyptic/dystopian than anything we've ever experienced. Money will become purely digital. The world will change radically now that we've entered the age of humans making machines smarter than the humans are and now the machines already making machines smarter than the machines are. So everything is super accelerated, forcing change on the world at a pace far beyond what humans have ever developed to be capable of. The stresses of those changes will bring new kinds of psychosis and social fractures of a whole new order.
