Almost everyone receiving this email at this point is a current or former patron of The Great Recession Blog. As such, all who have been Patrons of my writing on the blog have become the first people on the new mailing list for The Daily Doom (economic, social and political news about the Great Collapse), which has quickly proven to be one of the Great Recession Blog’s more successful features and will now be delivered by email. If you haven’t become familiar with it, you can read about it in on my new Substack page (thedailydoom.substack.com).

This list is intended ONLY for delivery of The Daily Doom, which will soon be available only via Substack. (If Substack does send you any of their own announcements, you can opt out of those.) As my appreciation for all patronage, I’ve put all Patrons on the list on the basis that you’ve asked, at one point in time, to receive extra, more privileged content from The Great Recession Blog, and your addition up front to this list will give you some extra privilege in the future (even if you are no longer a Patron of the blog):

While anyone in the world can sign up to receive The Daily Doom for free for now, I eventually hope The Daily Doom will become a paid-subscription-only service. I’m still formulating exactly how that will work and what it will cost, but I intend to extend all of my current and past patrons a complimentary one-year subscription in gratitude once The Daily Doom does become a paid service just to express my thanks.

Then, when that complimentary subscription runs out, all continuing Patrons of The Great Recession Blog, at or above the $10/month level will continue to receive a complimentary subscription for as long as they remain patrons (as well as continuing to receive those privileged in-depth articles you already receive if you are at or above the $5 level).

If you don’t wish to be on this list, let me know and I’ll remove you now; or you can just click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the first email you receive, and that will remove you, too; but getting removed from the list will also mean you’re not on the list of those who will receive the continuing complimentary subscription for a year if and when The Daily Doom is able to become a paid-subscription service. (No promises it gets that far, but you can help it continue until it does get that far by sharing some of the daily emails or announcements like this with those you think might appreciate this aggregated news while it is free.)
