I agree. I don't eat any of my fellow human beings. I'm not convinced that animals are really sentient as my understanding is that a sentient being is a being having the faculty or capability to think, reason, feel pain, and have emotions. I guess since my mind reading capabilities when it comes to pigs is limited to zero, that I could be wrong. If so, I'll extend an apology to all the pigs throughout my life that I partook of some of their cooked flesh.
I say, "Thank you, God, for pig!" It is the most savory of all meats. They may be a touch ugly and smelly and rough to the touch, but they sure taste great. However, I did once want to adopt a runt that was bloody because she was literally half the size of the rest of the litter and scorned by all her brothers and sisters. We were going to name her "Wilamina," sort of a feminine virgin of "Wilber" from Charlotte's Web, since he was the runt of the litter, too. I would have never eaten Wilamina. My wife and I sometimes wish we would have adopted her and kept her on our farm.
I did not eat pork for years due to my religious understanding of the pig. But as I became older and rejected organized religion from my life for all intents I slid back to eating bacon and then a pork loin here and there. I still prefer beef or fish over pork. The picture of that sucker is a riot. I love it! Reminds me so much of some of the polytickshuns that are running our world.
Pigs are actually pretty smart, and I've met a few who made me feel bad about eating their distant relatives. I try not to eat sentient beings.
