First, a quick note: In my last Deeper Dive, I just reported the degree to which the Biden administration rigged the latest job numbers to look like there is no recession anywhere in sight. You won’t find too many financial writers catching what Biden-His-Time did because those writers don’t want to see it, but the evidence is solid. I’ll let paying subscribers who got my report comment below as the jury, if they wish to, about whether the evidence was soundly on the side of election manipulation.
Today, we lead off with an article, showing how even the latest high jobs report, nevertheless, “fits into the volatility of a slowly deteriorating labor market and there are plenty of examples of big jobs numbers before recessions.” The author also lays out two other signs of recession that are never wrong when they happen together and shows on graphs what historic soft landings look like, compared to what today looks like.
Hoofbeats of war thundering around Israel like never in my lifetime
Moving on from the subject of this weekend’s Deeper Dive, I just read a particularly interesting story in the New York Times about Israel. Do you remember how I recently wrote the following:
Thundering toward Armageddon
It’s not hard to see the many nations of the world that are Muslim would turn in unison against Israel … but those nations may also include Russia as an ally of Iran and other nations that turn against Israel—Islamic Turkey seeming more on sides with Russia now than with the US or Israel—because yet another prophecy says that, in these times, Israel will lose its allies:
12 “This is what the Lord says:
“‘Your wound is incurable,
your injury beyond healing.
13 There is no one to plead your cause,
no remedy for your sore,
no healing for you.
14 All your allies have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you.
I have struck you as an enemy would
and punished you as would the cruel,
because your guilt is so great
and your sins so many.
15 Why do you cry out over your wound,
your pain that has no cure?
Because of your great guilt and many sins
I have done these things to you. (Jeremiah 30:12-15)
What is notable in that prophecy about God’s judgement on Israel during the end times is not that all the surrounding nations that hate Israel would rise up in war against it, though that is also specifically prophesied, but that Israel would lose all of its allies.
In another article (“Existential Crisis Envelops the Middle East”) I wrote …
This kind of war is entirely different than anything we’ve seen Israel fight in recent decades…. I think it could easily wind up with Israel facing abject failure because of how much they are outnumbered and how much better armed some of their opponents are than in the past and find themselves facing that situation without any remaining friends if they push beyond US limits because they think they can claim the Promised Land by their own might or by divine blessing that still requires their own might.
And in a Deeper Dive laying out my predictions for ‘24 for paying subscribers clear back in January, I wrote …
Biblical prophecy talks about the war to end all wars—the Battle of Armageddon—as a situation in which all the nations around Israel will turn against it, and Israel will be left without a friend. The present situation certainly has that possibility forming more strongly than we’ve seen in my fifty years of adult life.
We’ve always seen Israel at risk from its neighbors; but now some of its longtime friends are sounding less committed and more disapproving. I think Netanyahu has played them long enough with pretenses of being willing to find some sort of path to peace while always skirting any progress there, that liberal European nations and the current liberal government of the US are falling away from Israel. They see ol’ Bibi as a hard-headed conservative who cannot be trusted. Many conservative Jews see him that way, too, but for opposite reasons.
Well, today, I read an article in the New York Times that proclaims,
“Israel stands alone in fight against terror one year after Oct. 7’s horrors”
The article names Israel’s usual allies and lays out how each ally has now distanced itself from Israel. Even the New York Times, with all the Jewish patrons it has surrounding it in New York, finally has noticed officially how Israel has isolated itself from its traditional friends.
Not only has Europe stepped back, the peace that was building nicely with Saudi Arabia, has taken a turn backward, and even the stalwart US, now that it is under Biden, has become increasingly less supportive.
The Times starts by noting how great things were looking for Israel and Saudia Arabia just before the Oct. 7th attack:
In Israel, Oct. 6, 2023 was a day marked by optimism. Saudi Arabia was moving toward normalizing relations with the Jewish state, a once-unthinkable step that would dramatically improve Israel’s relationships with the Arab world.
A pact with the Saudis including trade, tourism and security provisions would expand the historic Abraham Accords forged under Donald Trump, bolster a regional alliance with the United States and further isolate Iran.
“Every day seems to bring a new advance in the fast-moving American effort to build a Saudi-Israeli alliance in the Middle East,” was how a Times of Israel columnist described the confident outlook that day. “Should an Israeli-Saudi deal be sealed, the two countries will owe much to Tehran for so expertly driving them into each other’s arms….”
In late September, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had told Fox News that “We’re getting closer to peace every day.”
Then came “Israel’s 9/11, the deadliest day since the end of the Holocaust.” Such times and hopes as described above now look far, far away as nations have gathered around Israel to fight it while its allies have moved away from it.
As for the prophecies that I said predicted the nations all around Israel will rise up against it in a great and final battle that hugely imperils Israel, I’ll end with one particularly stunning prophecy spoken as God’s judgment against Israel by the prophet Zechariah, but also against the nations that gather around it a little to desirous of carrying that judgement, which also talks about the final coming of the Messiah:
Zechariah 14
1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you.
2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle.
4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake [1] in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
6 On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost.
7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime—a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light.
8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea [2] and half to the western sea, [3] in summer and in winter.
9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.
10 The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
11 It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.
12 This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
13 On that day men will be stricken by the LORD with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other.
14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected--great quantities of gold and silver and clothing.
15 A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.
18 If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD [4] will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
20 On that day HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the LORD's house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar.
21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of the pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite [5] in the house of the LORD Almighty.

As a point of clarification, I'm not saying the present battles are any of the end-time wars. One of my own articles that I quoted above made that clear, but I didn't include that clarification when copying the article, so I'll add it here:
"Am I saying Iran and Israel are about to begin the Battle of Armageddon or the Battle of Gog and Magog? I don’t have that kind of knowledge. However, what I do know is that those who want to bring on the great end-times war are doing their best to make such horrific events happen as quickly as they can, and they could find themselves (and all the rest of us) reaping a whirlwind of misfortunate events because of their actions, which could start tonight and continue to escalate into Armageddon someday down the road."
What I was saying originally about those seeking to bring on the end and again in this article about Israel losing its allies is that the dynamics are all now shifting sharply in the direction of the prophecies about those end-time conflicts. Israel is rapidly losing its allies and is finding its victories more costly. The nations around Israel are increasingly ganging up and surrounding it with war to where Israel may find itself engulfed in more than it can handle with no help available to it.
This is a total shift from the dynamics of all the past years of my life, and it's likely to continue moving in that direction. How long it will take for the big changes to build toward Armageddon, I don't know. But what is clear is that the dynamics are remarkably different, leaning increasingly hard in that direction, and they have much more of a WWIII fear infused in them. I think we will see a relentless march in that direction in the months and years ahead and probably not that many years, given how quickly all world events are turning in apocalyptic ways.
The light around us has that kind of amber evening glow now.
'Hoofbeats of war thundering around Israel like never in my lifetime'
************************
Like you quoted: Zechariah 14: 1-5
2 **I** (The Lord) will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it
3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.
ETC
**************
Its the LORD bringing the nations against Israel TO FIGHT THEM. As you quoted. We are a LOT closer to the end than people think as Obama is the Antichrist.
Theyre not supposed to have any friends anymore. Thats what the 'abomination of desolation' is: The stranding and leaving Israel desolate. Jesus says: When you SEE the 'abomination of desolation", let those in Judea flee to the hills. The stranding of Israel is an ABOMINATION. There is only ONE Jewish state. ONE. People cant handle that? Shows how sick WE are.
BUT - It is the LORD who has driven everyone away. Why? For what they have done throughout thousands of years to the Jews. God is not a God who lives 'in the present' like we do. He is not help back in time. The nations are also punished.
Which is why there are floods all over Europe right now. Floods and waters all over Jew hating countries.
This is the time where God gathers the Kings of the east to fight them - for what they did to his original root people.
