I just started publishing my first notes on Substack Notes, and would love for you to join me there! Not sure how frequent I’ll be as I’m just giving it a try.
Notes is a new space on Substack that is a little like Twitter for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more that are not connected like comments to a particular post, though you can link to posts if you want. You can even just highlight a few sentences of a post and an option to turn that into a note will appear if you just want to share part of it. I may use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions, but also for sharing bits of other people’s posts that I think would connect with my own audience — people or articles I want to promote because they’re doing a good job and would be of interest to my own readers.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to The Daily Doom, you’ll automatically see my notes and notes of anyone else you subscribe to, free or paid. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of The Daily Doom can share thoughts and integrate with other writers with similar topics and similar takes, share ideas and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, I’m told you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. (That part is all up to Substack, so I take no blame or credit for how well Notes works.) Looking forward to seeing you there!
