We will see the seventies for sure, likely worse, especially if the cease fire doesn't hold because then they will really go back to blowing up oil infrastructure.

Even over in Godless Communist North Korea, Kim Jong Un is muttering under his breath, "Thank God we got the bomb ." No one seems to recall our having "Bombed them back to the Stone Age" in the Korean War. It's a damn shame that the peace-loving people of the world seem to have no lobby like the billionaires feeding at the MIC trough- except for their tiny ballots, which may hopefully sweep some of the warmongers out in the fall if we manage to keep from being incinerated in nuclear war before then.

A good example. Well said.

“The US starting the war makes it a defensive war for Iran, which is essential for declaring jihad, [in which] Muslim nations must join each other in defending their religion if attacked.” The case for Muslim countries coming together as a defensive “alliance” against an attacking enemy (the U.S.) is sound, but Iran has hurt their prospects of this happening by attacking other Muslim countries in retaliation for being attacked.

Trump’s actions as the war’s instigator recalls what brought us into WWII. Imperial Japan attacked the United States, which triggered a massive response that led to Japan’s humiliating surrender 4 years later. Has Imperial Trump done the same in Iran? If so, which two large American cities should we sacrifice to a nuclear bomb in response to Trump’s adventurism? Note that the U.S. did not nuke Japan’s capital or its two largest and most important cities, Tokyo and Osaka. Hiroshima and Nagasaki had no military importance; they were just large cities. If Iran or their nuclear-capable allies follow this pattern, they won’t drop nukes on Washington DC and New York; they’ll vaporize Atlanta and Dallas, or Baltimore and Philadelphia, or Miami and Portland, or your city and mine.

Trump will not be President when WWIII ends, but it will be his legacy.

THIS TRUMP NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE TODAY - HE IS A MANIAC AND INSANE!!!! HE NEEDS TO BE HUNG ALONG WITH HIS WHOLE ADMINISTARATION & ISREAL SHOULD BE NUKED

NETAN YAHU CHOPPED UP -CRUZ, HUCKABEE & LINDSEY GRAHAM HUNG AT GITMO ALL TRAITORS - TIME TO BLOW UP ISRAEL SO IT NO LONGER EXISTS

TRUMP DESTROYED THE WORLDS ECONOMIES -IRAN WILL HUNT HIM DOWN

Fully agreed on the Trump side (but not the nuking anyone side) because, if he is not bluffing, it will be too late by tomorrow. Even if he is bluffing, it will be too late if Iran decides to go pre-emptive on Israel while it still can. Because you know Israel will go full-slaughter back.

Israel is already being destroyed more than the news media is letting on, and they will be getting a lot worse tonight ... maybe even if Trump does not follow through.

There is no more time to wait on Trump. Our government should NOT take that chance of a single day left in power. 26 him NOW! End his authority over the military immediately and usher him out of the White House in bonds for starting an illegal war and threatening mass genocide with the US military. Making these kinds of existential threats is total insanity.

" it will be too late if Iran decides to go pre-emptive on Israel." Get real, David- they have just had their entire Air Force and navy wiped out, and they are not the ones with nukes. Their firing off their missiles is a bizarre sort of Masada for them- as the rest of the world will pretend not to notice when nukes (in the form of neutron bombs) are used against them.

Was hoping for a military coup.

Yes, the petrol dollar is now dead. Iran is selling oil outside the dollar.

Elsewhere I'm seeing prediction of famine in the next year. With the increased cost of everything involved with growing food, as you've outlined here, it may not matter as so many will not be able to afford to buy anything. A sad scary time for many already struggling and many more who soon will be.

And the particularly scary part is that the damage is already done. It cannot be prevented by slamming the brakes on the war now. We've crossed that bridge. The best we can do is not make it worse; but news in the past two days from the Don and from the mullahs sounds like both sides are storming toward making it worse TONIGHT!

Who is going to stop the madness of Donald Trump who just said he will bomb all their bridges and ALL their electrical power plants if they do not open the strait now? To which they responded, "No Ceasefire! You do that to our citizens, and we launch missiles at all the same civilian stuff in all the surrounding countries tonight!"

That means the next step, scheduled for tonight if someone doesn't talk the idiot Trump out of his madness or just stop him, will be scorched earth! That kind of attack, IF Trump does what he actually said over Easter he will do tonight, would kill millions of people. No electricity throughout the country, and all major bridges taken out means no water and great difficulty trucking water and food and no AC OR VENTILATION in large buildings that require HVAC. Partially disabled hospitals. Almost all nonworking clinics, which likely lack generation abilities. No refrigeration of food.
