Sorry no Daily Doom for today
Had my first experience with A-Fib last night and went to the hospital emergency early this morning. No heart pains or other symptoms than just the fluttering arrhythmia, rapid heartbeat for hours and high blood pressure. They got all of that stabilized with meds and no shock. I am feeling completely normal at this point, but it ate up the entire day. Tomorrow may be sketchy timewise, too, because I now have to go in and see my regular doctor during the part of the day when I usually do all my research and writing (and that is a long jaunt from work), but I will get back on track as soon as possible. Getting old (almost 67) has been fun for the past two years like swimming in a snake-and-crocodile-infested swamp.

I too have Afib. Seems to be quite common. Didn't even know I had it until I went to the skin doctor for some skin cancer surgery about 4 years ago and my heart rate was 130. They tried shocking my heart to get a normal rhythm, said it worked, but it only lasted a week or less and $18,000 later for a 15 minute procedure. Now basically just control it with meds and blood thinner (Eliquis) which is also high dollar. Don't let them jerk you around and do some research on it, Good luck, my friend.
David, don’t worry about us and don’t rush it, we’ll be waiting here patiently for your next substack. Your message and thoughts are too valuable to lose so take care of you. Prayers headed your way!
