The Adults in the Room Stop Listening to Tiny Trump
Meanwhile, two major empires instate emergency financial actions. One of them is the US.
Our president is so funny. Let’s lead off with a little fun from the forever war before we get to our topic. Today the little boy pretended he was part of a conversation that he was fenced out of. When Iran took Oman aside in the room where the adults were gathering and told tiny Trump he wasn’t part of the conversation any more, Trump went right on pretending he was by talking to the air and then yelling and screaming when it became clear to him that the adults were not listening.
He posted a message telling Iran to hurry up and complete the deal WE are all working on with Oman and open up the strait. He even set Iran a deadline for getting the job done by this morning or he’d rain down hell upon them. Iran briefly explained to the world that nothing in the adult conversation was taking into account anything the protesting toddler was demanding, and then, to give Trump a big shut-up message, Iran lit up a cargo ship in “Trump’s” part of strait (the Oman corridor). That was the third ship they torched in 24 hours. This has become their usual way of swatting the little boy on the mouth when he keeps talking.
Here’s the funny part: The deal Trump was demanding they complete was an agreement with Oman that gives Iran full control over the strait but gives Oman a share of “fees” that are “not tolls” that will be charged for all ships passing through, and it contains a clause that says Iran will not reopen the strait until Trump removes himself from the room by ending his own blockade. It was a deal the president would have hated, but apparently he wasn’t listening since he seemed to have no idea what the deal contained that he thought he was a part of. He was too busy screaming.
No, the adults, wicked as some of them are, were having a conversation, and Trumpty Dumpty was ushered to the side of the room. When Trumpety’s deadline passed, he gathered up his marbles and … did nothing. Again. No “devastating air strikes,” as the human Trumpet had threatened. No “decapitation.” The evil adults now just ignore the little boy whenever he cries “wolf.”
There is no deal, no announcement, the Strait of Hormuz remains fully closed, and Iran continues to strike ships attempting to pass through the US-backed southern route.
So, business as usual:
Now on to the news about the nuclear global debt bomb that just reached critical mass, triggering major Treasury and central bank reactions….
Sovereign emergency actions
It’s been a long time since we saw this kind of coordinated Treasury-central bank action, and whenever we have seen it, huge problems followed …
