I wrote the editorial that follows this video to get the news out ahead of Trump’s announcement, but before I was able to get back to it to proofread it, he made the following announcement. I’m listening to it live so don’t know the full announcement, I’m sending this out now without the proofread for the sake of catching the attention of some who may not be watching this: (The original article follows without the proofread.)
President Trump left Camp David early this weekend in order to rush back to the White House, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ended his visit to the US early in order to rush back to Jerusalem. When top leaders end engagements abruptly like that at the same time, it usually means and emergency. When they do it right after the US Dept. of State issues a warning to all citizens in the Middle East to leave or take caution, it certainly indicates something reaching a more intensified crisis level.
It all transpired close in time to when the Houthis began their first attack on Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh since the Trump-Israel-Iran War began, and this attack used their first supersonic/maybe-hypersonic ballistic missile, which is hard to intercept. So, that could have been it. Trump and Bibi most likely had no idea how far the Houthis would go. So, a direct attack with multiple strikes in Riyadh could easily rouse an all-out response from the Saudis. As it was, though, the attack lasted less than an hour, though that doesn’t mean the Saudis are not preparing for an all-out attack on the Houthi controlled region of Yemen.
This is Monday’s article posted early because I wanted to give everyone a heads-up as quickly as possible about the potential change in war. It’s not that you need to know since you cannot do anything about it, but I like to get everyone the earliest notice I can, regardless.
Therefore, today, I’ve posted a number of articles that are summaries of where the Trump-Iran war has brought us up to the present date—how we got here, how things have stacked up—because I feel like we have moved past a clear inflection point in The Great Trump Fuel Crisis and possibly are standing at an inflection point in the war where Trump is deciding whether to go all-out in an attempt to achieve some vague objective before the election or just get all out in order to try to take the war off his plate before the election. Because of the big turns that took place in both the war and the fuel crisis over the past week or so, articles taking stock from a variety of perspectives are timely for reflection.
